Pakistan School of fashion Design and L'ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la couture Parisienne , France . PSFD is the first institution that offers graduates training in fashion design, in Pakistan . The PSFD provides an opportunity to study fashion design from modern and historical perspective and highly skilled scientific techniques of haute couture garment design and constructions. The EPB successfully arranged affiliation of the fledgling PSFD with the L'ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la couture Parisienns, on of the prestigious French Federation Fashion Design Schools. The original affiliation fee of US $ 100,000 is now US $ 50,000. the affiliation contact entails the following:
- Affiliation of the PSFD with the schools of French Federation of Fashion Designers.
- Training of teachers of PSFD in Paris , France .
- Defining the curriculum
- Technical assistance i.e. teachers/faculty
- Establishing Library with video input.
Additionally, periodic study visits, refresher courses by the PSFD faculty to L'ecole serve to maintain the flow of latest curricular and pedagogical information. Similarly, yearly visits of the incumbent L'ecole principals to PSFD, to evaluate final degree projects, helps in institutional assessment. Furthermore renowned fashion dignitaries, such as Oliver Lapidus, designer and the Chambre of Couture were among those involved in overseeing and developing PSFD's program, since its establishment in 1995.
